NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Kit

The steering wheel quick release system was first introduced and developed
specifically for race vehicles. This system is required since the driver was
positioned so up close to the steering wheel and sat in a bucket race seat,
removing the steering wheel allowed easy access into and out of the vehicle. NRG
took the next step by redesigning it not only for race, but street applications.


The NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Gen 2.0 carries the same great
qualities as the Gen 1.5 but with additional new features such as raised
sections to prevent scratches on the hub, a self locking mechanism for ease of
use and safety functions and as always, a variety of colors and color
combinations. The NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Gen 2.0 is manufactured with
high quality aircraft aluminum or powder-coated stainless steel for maximum
durability and usability. Sturdy and reliable operation was critical when
developing the NRG Steering Wheel Quick release, especially when exposed to
driving environments such as track racing. Ball-lock type mechanism are designed
for a tight, consistent, and dependable locking fit and a push pin for
prevention of premature unlocking. Street applications can also benefit from
this design as it also works as a thief deterrent device. By removing the
steering wheel, a thief has no way of driving off with your vehicle. This extra
security measure will add some peace of mind when leaving your vehicle alone at
an insecure location.

Steering Wheel Quick Release will compliment your vehicles interior and ideal
for aftermarket steering wheels. Combined with the NRG Short Hub (sold
separately), you can expect the best solution for a quick release system. The
NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Kit is easy to install and includes wiring to
retain factory horn operation. The NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Kit must be
installed with an NRG or aftermarket steering wheel hub and steering wheel. The
NRG Steering Wheel Quick Release Kit will not work on OEM steering wheels.
